                                                                                             Good Friday in Ireland

                                                                          **************************************************

Today Is a historic day in Ireland  as publicans close their doors for the last time on good Friday.

Its been tradition for almost 100 years for a ban on alcohol to be sold in bars and off licensed premises on this day.

Many people would also abstain from eating red meat on good Friday and queues would form outside fish mongers

and chip shops as fish would be the choice of the day. Alcohol could be consumed if travelling through the airport

and also on  Dublin s floating restaurant  La Peniche  which cruises each night on the grand canal between Baggot  street

and Leeson street. Tourists to the city also visit The Guinness storehouse  and  Jameson's brewery located in Bow street in Dublin .

There is also the Whisky Museum located opposite Trinity College on Grafton street.
